Welcome to King Edwin Primary School
On behalf of all of our ‘KingEdwinners’ , I wish you all a warm welcome to King Edwin Primary School – a very special place in the heart of Sherwood Forest and at the centre of our village community in Edwinstowe.
We work in partnership with our community to ensure every child succeeds in life and leaves us happy, confident and ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow. Our school is truly a very special school. We all work hard to make it a place where everyone can thrive. A place where all learners feel safe to take risks, where the process of learning is celebrated as much as the outcome and where everyone is valued for their contributions.
At King Edwin we believe that ‘all children can!’ There is no limit or ceiling to what we can achieve. Our children develop skills in communication, problem solving, collaboration, negotiation and as practitioners we learn from them through research and observation in a mutually beneficial relationship.
We instil a love for learning and enable children to be competent at applying the skills of learning to new areas they encounter. We provide purposeful, memorable and happy experiences that will last a life time…the way it should be at Primary School.
We believe that all children can succeed; that we all have enormous potential and that we all have a role to play in ‘making it happen’ for our children. We feel that learning requires the learner to want to learn, to want to take part in the process and to want to achieve. This requires many qualities including respect, excellence, determination, responsibility and the ability to make good choices. These qualities naturally create our ‘High 5 ‘ values and we live by these in all that we do at King Edwin.
At King Edwin we ‘grow, learn and achieve together’ and we all enjoy being special ‘King EdWINNERS’. This identity feels great and we welcome all in our community that wish to be part of this.
